The Good Book

We’ve got a new section on our side bar. It’s just meant to be a resource for folks on some of the good books that are out there. As a disclaimer, these are different books that different people are reading and they don’t reflect the opinions of the whole crew. So if The Last Chinese Chef (Anu…is that a cookbook?), the book with the flower on the cover, makes it to the ‘Recommended Reads’…don’t think all the guys in the group have suddenly started wearing skirts…just blame it on our wives.

As we’re reading through these great books, of course we’re still supremely committed to reading the Scriptures. In fact, in a couple of weeks, 7 Mile Road in Boston is getting ready to start a sermon series exploring the Bible. We’ll be preaching through a bunch of different questions about this book. Questions like: Are the Gospels reliable? What did Jesus think about the Scriptures? How did 66 books end up in 1 book called the Bible? What do we mean when we say the Bible is inspired, inerrant, authoritative, or perspicuous? Why can the Bible be so hard to read and what am I supposed to do when I sit down to read it? And more…

The series is being prepared right now, so please be prayerful for us. It’ll kick off on October 7 and the sermons will be available online at 7mileroad.org
