They met without us

One of the coolest things happened this past weekend. Shainu and I were in Boston for the weekend, visiting our sending church, reporting on what God had been doing in the last eleven months. So since we were away, you figure we had to cancel our Sunday Gathering right? Nope. Seven Mile Road gathered for prayer, study, conversation, and community just like we always do. Nothing changed.

Dennis led the gathering, Phillip led the singing, Jeremy did the teaching, Anne and Leena ran the nursery, Reny took care of the food, Winson helped count the offering, and on and on the list goes. Do you know how cool that is? My heart is so deeply encouraged that God has gathered a community called Seven Mile Road Church in the city of Philadelphia. That there are people who are willing to lead and serve this baby church amazes me. That they care and believe in what God is doing thrills me. That this whole thing rests on Jesus’ shoulders and not mine comforts me. Jesus is building a church in Northeast Philadelphia. Praise His name!
