A Sunday with 27 Inches of Snow

Last Sunday, twenty seven of our adults and their kids gathered for worship in over two feet of snow. It was particularly encouraging to me, especially since I wasn’t there.

Shainu and I had the incredible opportunity of going to Israel (more on that to come) and so we weren’t going to be there. We had a guest preacher lined up who couldn’t make it because of the weather. On top of that, our worship leader was stuck in the snow. So by Saturday night, we had no preacher and no musician. But the Seven Mile folks pulled it all together and gathered on Sunday morning nevertheless. Siby made it out and led in singing. Dennis prepared overnight and preached on community. The church gathered for worship. Our infant church is five months old, and on a Sunday with no pastor, no preacher, multiple setbacks, and twenty-seven inches of snow, the church gathered to worship God. Awesome.

And I’m told there was an epic snowball fight to end the day. No winner has yet been declared.
