We have no greater desire for our children than that they would come to know and love Jesus from a young age. Seven Mile Road’s Children’s Ministry seeks to help our young ones grow in their understanding and belief in the gospel through three primary means:
- Partnering with and equipping our parents to disciple their children
- Providing our children with Christ-centered instruction during Sunday gatherings
- Presenting a vision of how the gospel is lived out through our GCMs
Children’s ministry at Seven Mile Road is available for the following age groups during Sunday mornings:
- Nursery (Under 2 years old)
- 2-3 year old class
- Preschool (Pre-K/Kindergarten) class
- 1st and 2nd grade class
- 3rd grade and older class
On Sunday mornings, our children join us for the first half of service and attend either nursery or Sunday School during preaching and communion. The 3rd grade and older class, however, meets from 10:30 – 11:15 (in-between 1st and 2nd service).
(Note: During the summer months (July and August), all nursery and Sunday school classes are held during preaching and communion. Children will not be taught from a curriculum during these months, but will participate in activities.)
In 2015-2016, we’ll begin teaching through the New Testament using the Gospel Story Curriculum. This curriculum is designed to help our children understand the centrality of Christ throughout the Bible. This year, they will learn key stories from Matthew to Revelation that highlight God’s plan of redemption through the use of stories, crafts, and activities. A sample lesson can be found using this link.
A list of the weekly lessons and scripture memorization can be found here.
