Gospel, Mission, & Community

As we enter a new season in the planting of 7 Mile Road, our goal is to grow a healthy Core Team that is committed to becoming a missional church.

Currently our team consists of 16 Christians who love Jesus and are committed to participating in His redemptive work in Philadelphia. Our hope is to double this crew in the pre-launch phase as we prepare for the public launch of 7 Mile Road Church. From day one, our hope is to have the gospel, mission, and community embedded deep into who we are and who we are becoming.

Grow in the Gospel
We long for Non-Christians who come to our gathering to come to an understanding of the Gospel. At the same time, we want to enable our current Core Team to come to a deeper awareness of the Gospel and its centrality in their lives and in the church. Beginning in September, we’re looking at working through either the Sonship curriculum by World Harvest Mission or Gospel & Christianity by Redeemer Presbyterian Church. We’re hoping this serves well as a tool for knowing, believing, growing and living the Gospel.

Be Missional:
We will encourage all Core Team members to cultivate relationships with Non-Christians and invite them to be a part of our weekly gatherings in September. Thus, our Core Team will practice evangelism that is personal and relational. Further, Pre-Christians will be incorporated into 7 Mile Road from its early stages, ensuring that an outward focus is a part of who we are. In particular, we’ll be looking to populate these gatherings by building relationships with two categories of people.

» Unchurched Non-Christians = people who have not come to faith in Christ and are not a part of any church
» Churched Non-Christians = people who have been brought up in the church but have not come to saving faith in Christ

Experience Community:
Part of our focus for the group will be caring for one another’s souls. We hope to build a safe community where people can share life together, share honestly about joys and struggles, confess sin and experience restoration. Our hope is to become a people who are walking closely with Christ in community.

Our hope is to take gospel, mission, & community and drive them a million miles deep into the DNA of who we are. God help us.
