Coming this Summer

Though you wouldn’t know it because of all the rain we’ve been having, summer is just one day away. Seven Mile Road, here’s a snapshot of five things to be looking for in the next two months.

Our current site was a gift from a church planter friend in Maine. Four years ago, as we were getting ready to publicly launch the church, he designed our site and gave it to us for free. It has served us so well. Now four years later, it’s a good time for a new look and some added features. For one, this blog will be moving as the new site will house our blog. So rather than coming here, everything will be found on More info to come. We’re hoping to launch the new site in July.

We’ll wrap up our series in 1 Timothy on June 30. The following Sunday, Reid Monaghan from Jacob’s Well Church will be guest preaching for us (that’s going to be great!). July 14 will be something fun called Church Planting Sunday (we’ll fill you in as we get closer). Then for the rest of the summer, we’ll be in the Psalms considering the prayer book of God’s people and allowing it to shape and mature our souls.

This is going to be a great year of maturing for us. We’ve moved to a plurality of elders having called Binu as an elder. And now, we’re going to move towards official church membership. The plan is to run a three week Membership Class through our GCMs in the month of August. So one night a week, for three weeks, Binu and I will be at each GCM to talk through what becoming a member of Seven Mile Road Church means.

During the membership class, we’ll also be talking through baptism – what it is and who it’s for. If you have come to faith in Jesus Christ, make sure that you are a part of that conversation. On Sunday, August 25, we will be driving over to Neshaminy State Park after the service to celebrate new life in Jesus through baptism.

We are starting to plan for another BBQ and Movie Night for our neighborhood. Tentatively, we’re shooting for Saturday, September 7. Our hope is to have another opportunity to connect and serve the people that live near or around our building. Keith Spencer will be heading it up and if you’d like to help, please be sure to let him know that you’re available to serve.

Can’t wait for all that this next season has for us. Father, bless us in these endeavors for Your glory and the good of all whom You love. Amen.
