The Krusemobile pulled in on Saturday loaded with Matt, Grace, Matthew Jacob, Brandon, Julia, and Callie. Matt Kruse is the lead pastor of 7 Mile Road Boston (the church that has sent Shainu, Hannah, and me to plant 7 Mile Road Philadelphia). We loved being able to see them again. It sort of felt like when you go away to college and someone from home comes out to visit. You know that you can’t go home with them cause that’s not where you belong anymore – but it’s still really good to see them and catch up. We loved hearing how our friends in Boston were doing and hearing how 7 Mile Road is running out of space on Sunday mornings cause a bunch of new people are showing up!

I loved that they were able to hang out with us for the Thanksgiving Dinner and be a part of the early days of 7 Mile Road Philly. After the dinner, we stayed up talking till like midnight at which point Matt decided it was time to put the kids to sleep by telling them a bedtime story. (If I heard correctly, he told some morbid story about a sinking ship and trapped passengers. How those kids woke up without nightmares is beyond me.) Got to worship with them on Sunday before they headed out. The next time we all get to see each other again will probably be sometime next spring. Looking forward to it.
