If you’ve been at Seven Mile Road for some time, you know that the gospel of Christ is what we long to be about and centered on: that Christ Jesus came into the world to save dead sinners by way of the cross…sinners who were unable to save themselves and could do nothing to gain or merit salvation (Eph 2:1-7). We have done NOTHING to earn salvation, but we have received immeasurable grace from God for salvation through Jesus. This is what we preach, this is what we sing about, this is what we believe! And yet, the Scriptures, without blinking and without contradiction, also calls us to pursue holy living for our sanctification (a word we’ll expound on more this Sunday). As we preach 1 Tim 4:6-10 this week, we’ll hear Paul use words like toil, train, and strive when describing the pursuit we need to have for holiness. For Paul, sanctification is not accomplished through legalistic self-effort, but it is also not accomplished without effort. So, you may be asking, ‘is it God’s work or our work that sanctifies us?’ Come hear us this week as we work through this passage and find out.

Here’s what we’re singing…

See you on-time this Sunday at 10a 🙂
