A flop.
For the last 15 years or so, I have played football with a group of friends in New York on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Further, every year for the last 15 years, I have been on the winning team.
But this year, that streak is over. We tried to organize a football game in Philly this year. In an effort to make Philadelphia home, I decided against driving to New York, stayed in Philadelphia and hoped to start a new tradition. I got to the field at 10:30…and the field was empty. No one showed. Eventually 2 guys from our Launch Team and a guy I recently met came and we ended up playing a lazy game of 2 on 2 basketball. All four of us were out of shape and were huffing and puffing after two games. It was pretty pathetic.
But, there’s always next year. Death always precedes resurrection.
