Last week we had a chance to hear Paul tell us his story in 1 Timothy 1:12-17. Hear the sermon here. As we considered Paul’s story, we realized that he was a great sinner, met by a great Savior, giving us a great example of the extent to which God’s mercy can go to save sinners. “The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost.” This truth gave us hope in considering not only our own lives and great sin, but all those in our lives that would otherwise never come to faith in Jesus. The work of Christ to redeem sinners is initiated by him, completed by him, and sustained by him. What a gracious God!
As we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus this Easter Sunday, we’ll take a break from our current sermon series to further consider what God’s work in Christ accomplishes for sinners like us. Seven Mile Road, the coming of Christ to this world for our sin has accomplished the salvation of our souls. This is great news for the world! News that offers eternal life and joy in Christ Jesus to all who trust in him. By God’s grace, may we receive these truths and extend them to those in our lives who don’t know Jesus. May this Easter be an opportunity for us to invite friends, neighbors, and family to hear the gospel of Christ Jesus.
Here’s what we’re singing this Sunday:
See you there!
