Last Saturday, a bunch of us got together to serve homeless men and women in our city. We packed 100 lunch bags with cheeseburgers, chips, juice, socks, and gloves. We then got in our cars and drove down to Love Park, split into teams, and distributed them to men and women who were living out in the cold. For many folks, this was their first time doing something like this and it was a moving experience. I think learning to be merciful and compassionate is like learning to pray. The only way to learn is by just doing it. Overall we had a great time loving the City of Brotherly Love. Another service day is in the works for March.
