For weeks now, we’ve been in the book of 1 Timothy hearing Paul instruct and encourage young Timothy, a young pastor who was tasked to lead the church in Ephesus. Paul became this father-like spiritual figure to Timothy since his own father was not a Christian. So how did Timothy come to faith in God in the first place? By way of his godly mother and grandmother who acquainted him the Scriptures. This Sunday as we celebrate our mothers, we also want to cast a vision for what it would like for the women of Seven Mile Road, both young and old, to be students of the Word, so that many generations might come to faith through their teaching. 2 Timothy 1:3-5 gives us a picture of what this could like.
Here’s what we’re singing:
See you this Sunday!
